Beach Heroes at Sideshore
25th July to 4th September
10am – 4pm
Beach Heroes is a free, fun, hands-on coastal programme helping young people build confidence in the sea, connect with nature, and learn how to protect our ocean environment.
Based at Sideshore in Exmouth, the programme brings together local organisations, educators, water safety experts and environmental groups to deliver engaging outdoor activities by the sea.
Children will collect a ‘passport’ to be stamped after each mission, as well as collecting beads for their Beach Heroes bracelet.
The Missions:
Habitat Hero – exploring coastal wildlife and habitats with Charlie’s Beach School
Sea Safety Star – learning sea safety and water confidence with the RNLI
Beach Clean Champion – taking action to protect our beaches with Plastic Free Exmouth
Water-Wise Adventurer – safe sea swimming and ocean confidence with Sea Swim Devon
Coastal Connector – building connection with nature and place through a self-led walk with audio guide
Ocean Artist – creativity inspired by the coast through self-led activities and ideas from the Sideshore Hub
