Meet The Team
Sideshore Community is the not-for-profit CIC at the heart of Sideshore, run by a team of two! You’ll find Nicky and Bernie in the Community Hub, co-ordinating projects, events and partnerships which support the people of Exmouth. We work closely with local groups, schools and businesses to strengthen community life and make Sideshore a welcoming place for everyone.
Nicky – Community & Innovation Lead
Nicky is a community and youth worker by training, and has spent much of her life helping Exmouth thrive – from running the Exmouth Festival to working for many years at the Exmouth Children’s Centre. She’s a justice-seeker at heart, a local Town Councillor, and a big believer in the power of community-led change. As a mum of two humans and two dogs, musical theatre nerd, activist and lover of a decaf oat milk cappuccino, she brings warmth, energy and a bit of fun to everything she does. Nicky is rooted in Exmouth and cares deeply about the ocean and the town that shaped her.
Bernie – Activity & Project Manager
Bernie brings a brilliant mix of marketing expertise and years of teaching in Exmouth, making her a natural organiser, connector and creative problem-solver. She’s the energy behind many of Sideshore’s events and collaborations – from sea-based activities to community gatherings – always championing ways the site can be used to benefit local people. A sea swimmer, surf lifeguard, windsurfer and long-distance runner, she’s rooted in both the coastline and the community. Bernie’s enthusiasm and heart for Exmouth shine through in everything she helps make happen.
