The Sideshore Community Hub

A Hub for Everyone!

The Sideshore Community Hub is a small, welcoming space on the seafront, open to local community groups, CICs, charities and partners who need somewhere to meet, run sessions or host small events. It comfortably seats up to 18 people for meetings, or a class of around 30 seated on the floor.

The Hub is free to use for community organisations, and available to local businesses for a donation that helps us keep it running. This temporary Hub is in place while we raise the funds to build our permanent home on the Mallow. Booking is simple — just contact us at info@sideshore.co.uk to check availability.

Managed by Nicky and Bernie, the Hub is a place for conversation, learning, creativity and connection at the heart of Sideshore Community.

Community Benefits

We recently partnered with the University of Exeter, supported by a grant from the Engaged Participatory Research Fund, to understand the impact of the Community Hub on wellbeing, inclusion and environmental action. The results were striking: 76% of participants said the Hub gives them a sense of community, 72% became more active in local environmental initiatives, and 88% reported improved mental wellbeing. As one participant put it, “The Hub gives you a real sense of community and belonging… there’s a real feeling of being part of something.”

The research shows how a small, accessible space can strengthen community life and support positive change — and it reinforces the importance of building a permanent Hub on the Mallow.
