The Big Dip
Sunday 27th September
10:30am start
Meet: On the beach in front of Exmouth Beach Rescue Club
Summer might be winding down, but we’re definitely not ready to leave the sea just yet!
Join us for The Big Dip – a free community swim and dip brought to you by Sideshore, Sea Swim Devon and Exmouth Beach Rescue Club.
Whether you’re a regular sea swimmer, an occasional dipper or simply fancy getting in and giving it a go, everyone is welcome. Swim as much or as little as you like, then stick around for a hot drink and a catch-up on the beach.
What’s happening:
- A relaxed community swim or dip
- An update on the South West Water legal action
- A chance to catch up with the local swimming community
- Hot drinks and refreshments after your swim
All proceeds from refreshments will support The Sideshore Project, helping us provide water safety education and practical sea experience to more than 1,000 local children each year.

A few things to remember
The sea will be starting to cool down by late September, so come prepared for afterwards. Bring plenty of warm layers, towels, dry robes, hats, gloves and anything else that helps you warm up comfortably.
Wetsuit or no wetsuit – completely your choice. You do you!
Safety cover will be provided by our friends at Exmouth Beach Rescue Club, but please swim within your own ability, stay mindful of the conditions and follow any safety guidance given on the day.
Come for the swim, the dip, the catch-up – or all three.
See you on the beach!
